Designing this experience was both complex and deeply personal. Finding a roommate or a place to live is often stressful, time consuming, and uncertain. The intent was to make that process feel lighter, clearer, and more human.

The guiding principle was simple in design, simple in process.

Before signing in, users define their persona through a quick toggle, allowing them to explore relevant options upfront and understand the platform’s value before committing. This helps reduce friction by showing what is possible first.

The interface draws inspiration from familiar patterns such as notifications and messaging platforms. Since the experience revolves around vibe and connection, subtle visual cues and micro interactions make the flow feel intuitive and easy to adapt to.

When something feels familiar, it feels easier and when it feels easier, users are more willing to connect.

Survey

The survey was designed to feel less like a form and more like a conversation. Instead of overwhelming users, it guides them through small, structured sections covering basic info, lifestyle, housing, and contact.

Clear spacing, visual hierarchy, and structured inputs reduce effort and decision fatigue, while optional fields give users control. Light, empathetic microcopy adds warmth and acknowledges the emotional side of the search.

The result is an experience that feels kind to time, attention, and emotion, making completion feel natural rather than forced.

Placard

The placard was designed to support fast and confident decision making. It shows only essential information upfront, allowing users to scan profiles quickly without overload.

The match percentage acts as the primary visual cue, simplifying compatibility into something instantly understandable. Additional details are revealed through progressive disclosure, helping users see the value before signing up.

By showing just enough first and expanding when users are ready, the experience keeps browsing simple, focused, and human.
